Sometimes I wonder
When I make this decision
Is actually my own thought or letting people's thinking to become my thinking
I wonder,
Isn't when I control my own behavior, feelings, and thoughts
then can achieve my goals and gain success in life?
Some typical parents want their kids to grow up to conform and dependent on other
Tbh kids should really start to think for themself instead of just relying on the opinions of others to shape their thoughts.
You know what
what if your kid falls into a dependent thinker category?
Especially when comes to group work
They have difficulty disagreeing with others out of fear (seldom express disagreement)
Because they fear losing support or approval
不要认为人家说就觉得对对对 没错
Then they will struggle to start a task or do things on their own ^
They start to have a fear of failure and weakness in a public display
Once they realized how 'worthless' they are.
They will just be motivated to avoid it.
They don't have a sense of worth to express or have a single opinion that differs from someone else.
Therefore, making up your own mind is actually an action, not a reaction.
Everything will make sense based on your own observation and experience
rather than just depending on the word of others. Even contradict what others say
Just trust own ability to make judgement.
Fundamentally, It takes courage to have own thoughts.
Just to remember,
Saying something different from the majority can make you vulnerable to attack.
Being an independent thinker isn't always easy
It can involve taking risks, being unpopular, going against the majority etc
By doing this
You can challenge your views by listening to others
Just expand your mind by listening to what other individuals have to say
People don't do different things, they do things differently.
Back to the question
Am I have the ability to disregard the opinions of others and think for myself.
People are neither right/wrong because others agreed and disagreed with them
while I'm right because my facts and analysis are right.
Rebuttal are to make opinions/views more innovative
We will never get better at decision making if we simply play it safe
and always go along with the opinions of other (when we never do the hard work of gathering facts and analyzing it)
Look at the problem from multiple edge
and trust own thinking
Try to surround yourself with open-minded and intelligent people
Talk to yourself, not a sign of crazy just the opposite
When people share their brilliant minds
It would encourage us to step up our own game
Find people who are smarter than you, but not
People who say 'They are the smartest in the room, then they are def in the wrong room'
Surround yourself with smart people who'll 'argue' with you
It may be hard to do, but could change your life forever.
The hard things are easy
but the easy things are hard :)
