Soul Cafe @ Jalan Kek Chuan, Penang
5th Year Anniversary Oct Menu

Soul Cafe located at Jalan Kek Chuan hustling and bustling city of Georgetown, below The Craftisan Cafe, the secret place that everyone from all walks of life visits. Well renovated for its local coffee. When stepped into the cafe, is obvious to see photography theme that inside showcase their masterpiece. Large plush armchairs, plenty of sunlight, cozy alcoves to nestle in and good coffee. The environment is suitable for family as well as a friend's gathering. As usual, they specialize in Coffee and Italian food. Just be sure to go when it's not that crowded, as it can get full during lunch and dinner time. To celebrate their 5th Year Anniversary (they never disappoint us with their creativity and tastiness) They launched a new menu in October from 7th October 2019 until 31st October which I would say that I was delighted with the quality of food and reasonable price tag is also a big plus and would definitely return again to try other dishes.

Promotion :
1. Spend above RM30 to PWP Molten Lava Cake for RM5 only;
2. Spend above RM50 to entitled a lucky draw! (You won't get disappointed!!)

Sweet and sour desserts are always the best combination.

For those out there with a sweet tooth, If you love lava cake, you must try the one from Soul Cafe. It's not a secret that they have a good lava cake in town.

First of all,
Affogato with homemade Vanilla Gelato to start my meal. If you are genuinely looking for good coffee in the heartlands, you cannot go wrong here. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. For the Oreo Frap, I and my friend were served with a cute limited edition camera lens mug too.
Soul Cafe carefully selects coffee beans to highlight the specific flavor notes of growing region.

If you are up for a carb-laden, utterly sumptuous meal this week or next week, hit up these 3 main meals which offer everything from pasta to burger and teriyaki chicken. Jiang Jianggggg, Soul Cafe rolled out a new menu for their 5th year anniversary in Oct, showcasing talent dishes such as Spaghetti Al Gamberi Pomodoro E Capsico, Flowing Cheese Beef Burger and Creamy Teriyaki Chicken.

Spaghetti Al Gamberi Pomodoro E Capsico which puts a spin on the traditional pasta ( tomato-based ) by adding different ingredients with different aromatic spice which is one of the favorite wonderful pasta dishes with the fruity taste of tomato and spices.
* Have you spot those big shrimps?!

If you are up for the challenge, the flowing cheese beef burger would be a better choice. Made of homemade New Zealand beef patty, tomato and gherkin sauce and lots of cheese offering nothing better than this.
Soul Cafe takes its patty very seriously, the owner knows exactly where the ingredients from, when it cuts, grounded and pounded. And the taste absolutely delicious. Completely made in house, you will want to bite into your burger again and again.
On top of that, the tomato and gherkin sauce is homemade too. A very different thingy from the usual mayo or bbq sauce. Each mouthful was tasty and exemplified the expertise of the chef.

Homemade New Zealand Beef Patty | Tomato&Gherkin Sauce | Lettuce | Cheddar slice | Mozzarella cheese | fries and mix greens

Meanwhile, I was impressed with the Creamy Teriyaki Chicken.
The salad greens were crisp and fresh, while the Creamy Teriyaki Chicken, the chef had added creamy teriyaki sauce that tastes sweet and Lil bit salty which I found unusual but did not detract from the dish.
Baked Pumpkin uses to replace typically wedges or french fries which create another level of satisfaction.
I recommend this would be good dishes for those friends loves teriyaki and wanna try a new combination.

As they served something different from the usual, we really did enjoy the food and environment. Their food and coffee are pretty impressive as well as usual. And definitely not forgetting their lava cake lol. Their lava cake is awesome. Thank Soul Cafe for inviting us for the review. Most of their food premiums produce straight from their very own and so humble establishment. With such dedication and close attention they pay to their food, it is inevitable that they make my list of one of the nice cafe in Penang.

On a side note, you might want to make a reservation before heading down, unless you're going on a weekday afternoon when there isn't much of a queue.
