Restaurant Blanc Celebrates Father’s Day With Discovery Menu By Chef Benny Yeoh | Macalister Mansion, Penang

Look no further, Restaurant Blanc in Penang welcomes families to celebrate the greatest man in our lives for Father’s Day. Available this weekend 20th and 21st June 2020 from 7pm – 11pm, the restaurant featuring Discovery Menu with an optional add-on Foie Gras supplement course at RM28+ only!





The recent announcement made by Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at a press conference stating that restaurants are no longer required to limit the number of people at a table as long as social distancing is adhered to, and that children are now allowed to go out with their parents. What a good news to all Malaysians during this phase of the Recovery Movement Control Order! So, gather your family members for a joyful celebration at Restaurant Blanc to shower dad with love and appreciation for his sacrifices and provisions to the family.


The 4-course set dinner of Discover Menu is a delicate creation by Chef Benny Yeoh, the newly appointed Chef de Cuisine of Restaurant Blanc. The course starts with Canape, followed by the Amuse Bouche and Hamachi (fish) flavoured with Earl Grey, Ginger Flower and Shio Kombu. An optional add-on of the Foie Gras supplement course at RM28+ is made available for sons and daughters to pamper dad’s taste buds on this special occasion. Instead of the usual pan-seared method in preparing the Foie Gras dish, Chef Benny braised it in Chinese herbal duck jus, beautifully plated it with pickled apple at the top and dripped with tamarind gel for a wonderful combination of French-Asian flavour. This dish will be served warm, we recommend to give it a try for its unique cooking method, as fans of Foie Gras would agree that this dish is a bonus!




Before satiate your palates with the main courses, the Hokkaido Scallop with Truffle Potato Mousseline, Swiss Brown Mushroom and Natural Jus will be presented to whet the appetite further. There are three choices of mains that are thoughtfully included in the menu to satisfy different preferences of the guests. The Line Caught Threadfin is unique on its own, whereby the fish is skilfully torched and the edible scales are being fried till crispy. It is then served with Cauliflower and Caviar.




Meanwhile, the Organic Chicken Breast gives a crunchy texture in your mouth by its layer of crispy skin and juicy meat on the inside, deliciously made to pair by Sweet Pea Puree and Chicken Jus. For a tender meat indulgence, the Lamb Loin imported from New Zealand will do justice. Sink your teeth in the Lamb Loin which flavoured with Caramelized Onion Puree, Sweet Pea and Japanese Miso for a pampering treat. Satisfy your craving for this lamb dish by just adding on RM38+ per person.

The dinner will end on a sweet note with the Pre-dessert, Mango Pomelo Sago and one final touch of Sweet Ending to complete the course. The Rainbow Gold Mango imported from Thailand offers a sweet and fine texture. Carefully cut and plated into a beautiful gold-coloured rose, the aesthetic presentation and the sour and sweet flavour of the mango parfait, pomelo confit and coconut will give a boost of euphoria.


Chef Benny brings over 10 years of culinary experience to his new post and is excited to present his refined new creations of French-Asian flavours. He began his career as a part time kitchen staff in cafes and fast food restaurants before moving to Singapore. He started as Commis II and soon promoted to Commis I in Sentosa Resort & Spa Beaufort Hotel. He then continued his culinary journey as Commis I and received another promotion to Chef de Partie in Sky on 57, Marina Bay Sands. With a natural flair for cooking, his humble start accelerated in no time and climbed the ranks in Restaurant Corner House, Botanic Garden from Chef de Partie to Junior Sous Chef for his dedication and talents, contributed in winning the coveted awards for the restaurant which includes Asia's 50 Best Restaurants and Michelin star. With all these credentials, Chef Benny decided to make a bold move by coming back to his hometown, Penang to showcase what his culinary experience could bring.


Leading his culinary team at Restaurant Blanc, we invite you to experience the gastronomic journey of Discovery Menu at RM208+ (usual price RM258+), with an optional add-on of Foie Gras at RM28+ specially made available for Father’s Day celebration only. Wine pairing is available at RM75+ as well as a premium wine pairing option at RM155+. The prices quoted are subject to 6% Service Tax and is based on per person.
